Walking Otter Bronze Fountain Statue

At the edge of the pond an otter pads along the stones, head up, whiskers alert, caught halfway between water and land. A ribbon of water slips from the sculpture and murmurs into the pool, a sound as easy as a slow exhale. The bronze fur is finely textured, cool and damp where the spray settles, and the long body invites a passing hand. Around it the air smells of moss and rain-washed stone.

The otter was modelled in clay and cast in bronze by the lost-wax method, its patina growing richer as the seasons pass. Heavy enough to sit steady at a pond edge, it looks most at home among water plants in a koi pond, water garden or shaded courtyard pool.
