Victorian Wire Side Chair
Victorian Wire Side Chair
(free shipping)
In a Victorian conservatory, wire chairs were prized because they let the eye travel through to the palms and orchids beyond. This side chair keeps that transparency, its tall back rising nearly forty inches in fine wirework that throws delicate shadows across a tiled floor. Without arms, it slips easily around a small round table for breakfast among the potted citrus, or stands alone beside a doorway as an occasional seat. On a sunny morning, with the scent of orange blossom in the air and coffee cooling in the cup, it feels like a corner of a nineteenth-century glasshouse.
