Two Rams on Rock Bronze Statue

High on a rise at the edge of the meadow, two rams stand braced on a crag of rock, their great curled horns silhouetted against the evening sky. You can almost hear the wind combing through the long grass around them and the far-off ring of a bell. Up close the bronze is all texture, from the ridged spirals of the horns to the dense fleece across their backs, warm under the late sun. The air carries the scent of wild thyme and sun-baked stone.

The pair was modelled in clay and cast in bronze by the lost-wax method, then given a layered patina whose subtle shifts of colour bring out every muscle and contour. Made to stand outdoors through the seasons, it looks best on a lawn, a hillside planting or at the approach to a lodge or ranch house.
