Three Tier Traditional Bronze Fountain

At the heart of the parterre, a three-tier fountain rises nearly eight feet, water spilling from the highest basin to the next and the next in a slow, silvery rhythm. Its sound reaches every path of the garden, a soft and endless patter like rain on leaves. On a hot afternoon the spray drifts on the breeze, cool against your face, and the ornate basin rims are wet and smooth to the touch. The air around it smells clean and green, of wet stone and box hedging.

The fountain was modelled in clay and cast in bronze by the lost-wax method, with graduated basins, decorative edges and relief ornament, then given a hand-applied aged patina that deepens with time outdoors. It is at its finest as the centrepiece of a circular drive, a formal garden or a courtyard, where it can be approached from every side.
