Regency Garden Bench

A good garden bench should look as if it has always been there, and this one has the composure of a Regency country house. Its lines are graceful and measured, its seat long enough for three, its back tall enough to lean into on a warm evening as the swifts wheel overhead. Set it on a gravel path between clipped yew, at the head of a border of delphiniums and foxgloves, or facing the view at the bottom of the garden. In hunter green it blends into the planting; in white it glows at dusk.
