Mandarin Console Base
Mandarin Console Base
(free shipping)
An entrance hall sets the tone for a house, and a console is where that tone is struck. This base from O'Brien Ironworks' Dynasty collection runs a full six feet long and stands thirty-six inches high, slim at twenty inches deep, made for indoor rooms such as a hall, a garden room or the wall behind a sofa. Top it with a slab of marble cool to the hand, then add a pair of blue-and-white ginger jars, a stack of garden books and a vase of camellias cut from the shrub by the door. In black it has the polish of lacquer; in Chinese red it is pure drama.
