Mandarin Chaise Lounge

A chaise lounge is a promise of idleness, the one seat in the garden that asks nothing of you but to lie back and watch the clouds. The Mandarin Chaise from O'Brien Ironworks' Dynasty collection stretches seventy inches long, with a sixty-inch seat and a back thirty-six inches high, so the whole body can settle into the afternoon. Set it at the edge of the pool, where the water throws flickering light up beneath a frangipani, or beneath a palm on a sunny lawn. Dress it with a deep cushion in a crisp outdoor fabric, and in white or faux verdigris it looks as cool as the shade it sits in.
