Lion with Ball Bookend Table-top Bronze Statue

At the end of a row of well-thumbed books, a lion sits with one paw resting on a decorative ball, keeping quiet watch over the shelf. The room smells of leather bindings and old paper, and the lamp throws a warm glow across his flowing mane. Run a hand down his back and you feel the ripple of muscle and the cool, polished stone beneath. It is a calm and noble companion for a library or study.

Cast in bronze by the lost-wax method, the lion is set on a polished marble base and carries a hand-applied patina that develops character over time. Its weight keeps a long run of books upright, and it looks best on a bookshelf, library mantel or desk.
