Highstreet Chippendale Bench

Six feet of iron, with room enough for two people and a lapful of cut dahlias. The Highstreet bench takes its cue from Chippendale's graceful formality and gives it the solidity a garden demands. Set it at the end of a gravel walk where hornbeam hedges frame the view, or against a sun-warmed wall where the scent of climbing roses gathers on still evenings. Painted Chinese red it makes a bold focal point at the far end of a lawn; in light grey or sage it settles into a shady border of hostas and ferns like it has always been there.
