Guneet Wall Sconce

A broad warehouse shade has the look of an old market-hall lamp, the sort that once hung above stalls of melons and cut flowers. Here the shade is wide and flat-brimmed, carried out from the wall on a curved gooseneck of black-painted iron, and it gives a garage, a carport or a long blank wall a real sense of purpose. The silhouette is strong and simple, easy to read from across a lawn. Mount it above a bench of potted succulents and agaves, or over a garden-shed door where a trumpet vine has been allowed to run riot across the roof and the hummingbirds come to visit.
