Gothic Garden Bench

Where a Gothic folly might once have closed the view at the end of a lawn, a well-made bench can do the same work at a fraction of the scale. The Gothic Garden Bench, from the Gothic Revival collection by O’Brien Ironworks, stands forty-three inches tall with a five-foot seat: enough height to register from across the garden, and room for two or three to sit. Set it against a yew hedge, beneath a canopy of old oaks, or at the turn of a path where white hydrangeas billow in late summer. Faux verdigris lends it the green bloom of weathered bronze; black gives it the sober elegance of a churchyard gate.
