Furnas Accent Floor Lamp

In a garden of tall, narrow forms (Italian cypress, clumping bamboo, the spires of foxgloves) this lamp feels entirely at home. It rises forty-seven inches from a compact square base, a single slender column of iron finished by hand in a rich, bronze-toned brown, with a small shade at its crown. The proportions are almost architectural, like a garden obelisk with a light at the top. Tuck it into the corner of a loggia beside a deep armchair, or stand it at the head of the steps down to the lawn, where its warm brown recedes into the shadow of the clipped hedge behind.
