French Provincial Bench

Morning in a walled garden: dew still beading on the boxwood, the scent of lavender rising as the sun reaches the gravel. This is where the French Provincial Bench belongs, set against old brick or beneath a pleached lime walk. O'Brien Ironworks forges it in the spirit of the country houses of southern France, with a tall, generous back and a seat broad enough for two to linger over coffee. The metal stays cool to the touch in the early hours and warms slowly as the day comes on. Finish it in sage or faux verdigris to melt into the planting, or in black to draw a crisp line across a border of white hydrangeas.
