Faux Bamboo Settee

Faux bamboo has charmed garden designers since the Regency, when craftsmen first turned and painted wood to imitate the knuckled canes of the East. The Faux Bamboo Settee continues that playful tradition in forged metal, every rail ringed with nodes like a living stem. O'Brien Ironworks makes it to order, and at 42 inches wide it seats two snugly. It is at its best in a garden room with a Palm Beach air: potted kentia palms, a ceiling fan turning lazily overhead, bougainvillea spilling over the porch screen. Add a cushion in a tropical leaf print and settle in.
