Entwined Pouf - Blue

Thick braids of yarn coil round and round, like a rope flaked down on the deck of a sailing boat, to make this low, round pouf. The colour is a dusty slate blue, the shade of a great blue heron's back at dawn, or hydrangeas grown in acid soil just as they begin to fade. Hand-woven and finished with a blanket stitch around the edge, it has the comforting irregularity of things made by hand. At twelve inches high it is just right for tucking under a garden bench, or for setting on a screened porch beside a pot of blue agapanthus.
