Contemporary Owl Table-top Bronze Statue

In a book-lined study as the evening draws in, an owl stands tall on its black marble perch, gazing out over the room with steady, penetrating eyes. The fire ticks and settles, the air smells of old paper and woodsmoke, and in the half-light the owl seems ready to turn its head at the slightest sound. Layer upon layer of feathers ripple down its chest, and its talons grip the stone with quiet strength. Trace the plumage with a fingertip and the bronze is cool and finely ridged, the polished marble smooth as still water beneath it.

The owl is cast in bronze by the lost-wax method and set on a polished black marble base, with a choice of brown or verdigris patina that develops richer character over time. At 17 pounds it stands securely on a shelf, desk or pedestal and is intended for indoor display in a library, study or office.
