Chinese Chippendale Recamier
Chinese Chippendale Recamier
(free shipping)
The recamier was made for reclining with dignity: half sofa, half bed, a seat for the long, slow hours of a hot afternoon. This Chinese Chippendale recamier stretches seventy-five inches in length, ample for lying full out with a novel and a paper fan, and Chippendale lattice gives the form a crisp, architectural frame. Set it in a garden room where shutters filter the light into stripes, or in a conservatory among potted gingers and orchids. Dress it with a thick cushion and a heap of pillows in your own fabric. In white or beige it has the cool, airy calm of a shuttered house in the tropics.
