Cambridge Chaise

Gothic Revival gardens were made for reverie: pointed arches glimpsed through yew, a chapel window of clematis, long shadows drawn across a lawn at evening. The Cambridge Chaise brings that wistful, romantic line to the business of lying down. Over six feet long, with a seat more than five feet deep, it lets you stretch out fully with a novel and a cup of tea while the scent of old roses drifts across the terrace. O'Brien Ironworks forges it in iron or aluminium. Set it at the edge of a pool beneath a pergola of wisteria, or on a shaded porch among hanging ferns, and dress it with a cushion in faded linen.
