Bizen Garden Stool - Blush

Each tier of this stacked stool takes its own tone, like the layers in a cutting through old garden soil: blush and warm clay, cream, chalk white and a soft mineral grey. The rounded rings swell gently one above another, and together they have the painterly, earthy quality of a potter's test tiles gathered into a single piece. Set against terracotta pots of pink pelargoniums, or beneath a wall washed in coral bougainvillea, it picks up every warm note around it. On a sheltered terrace it makes a relaxed side table, a place for a sun hat and a glass of rosé.
