Bear & Cub on Log Table-top Bronze Statue

On a bookshelf in a cabin-quiet study, a mother bear leads her cub across a fallen log, one careful step at a time. The bronze picks up the glow of the reading lamp along their backs, set off by the deep black shine of the marble beneath. Run a finger along the log and you feel the ridges of the bark, then the soft rough texture of fur, cool at first and slowly warming. With a fire crackling and the smell of pine and woodsmoke in the room, it is easy to imagine the forest just beyond the window.

The pair is cast in bronze by the lost-wax method, which captures every detail of fur and bark, and it rests on a polished black marble base. It is made for indoor display, on a desk, a shelf, a mantel or a side table where it can be seen up close.
