Directoire Basket Torchiere

English conservatories have always prized height: ferns on stands, orchids raised to the glass, a fuchsia trailing from a basket up near the roof. The Directoire Basket Torchiere offers that lift for one cherished plant. It stands 52 inches tall on a 14-inch square base, crowned with a basket to cradle a pot of maidenhair fern, a cascade of string-of-pearls or a mound of trailing petunias. O'Brien Ironworks forges it to order in iron or galvanized iron. Set one beside a window in a garden room, or stand a pair at the edge of a terrace, where the afternoon light slips through the basket and onto the leaves.
