1900's Art Deco Lady Bronze Statue

She waits at the end of the hall where the light from the garden door falls in long pale bars, a tall figure in flowing drapery with the poise of a dancer between songs. Her lines are clean and geometric in the way of the Art Deco years, and her aged patina glows like old honey against a plastered wall. Lay a palm against the folds of her gown and the bronze feels cool and finely ridged, the faint mineral smell of metal mixing with the breath of jasmine through an open window. Somewhere a clock ticks, and the house seems to slow down around her.

She was sculpted first in clay and then cast in bronze by the lost-wax method, which holds the detail of her features, her period costume and every fall of drapery. The hand-applied aged patina will keep deepening with time, and at more than four feet tall she is at her best anchoring a grand foyer, a formal living room or the turn of a garden walk.
