Winder Coffee Table

Pale colours outdoors gather the light at dusk, glowing softly long after the greens have gone dark. This low coffee table makes the most of it: a smooth cream top of powder-coated aluminium over a base worked with an open lattice of hand-woven rope, so the eye passes through to the floor beneath. At just 14 inches high it sits comfortably in front of the Winder seating. Dress it with a bowl of white gardenias and a hurricane lantern, and let moonflowers climb the porch screen behind.
