Whale & Calf Fountain Bronze Statue

At the far end of the pool a mother whale rises from the water, her calf tucked close beside her, and a bright thread of water arcs from the little one into the basin below. The sound is steady and soft, a gentle splash that carries across the terrace and settles the mind. Lay your palm on the bronze in the afternoon and it holds the sun's warmth, while the spray beads cool on your wrist. The air there is fresher, touched with the green scent of wet stone and water plants.

The pair was modelled in clay and cast in bronze by the lost-wax method, with the lifelike detail of a tender moment between mother and young. Suited to indoor or outdoor settings, it is at its best as the focal point of a garden pond, pool edge or courtyard where the water can be heard from every path.
