This Victorian wire armchair has the same tall, airy back as its side-chair companion, nearly forty inches high, with arms added for an unhurried hour with a book. Set two beside a small table on a shaded porch where Boston ferns hang overhead, or place one at the edge of a perennial border, where hollyhocks and foxgloves tower behind it and the open wirework lets the colour show straight through. Finished in white it reads as classic and summery; in a deep green it settles into the planting.
