Two Parrots in Tree Bronze Statue Mailbox

Where the drive meets the lane, two parrots perch on a gnarled bronze tree, heads cocked as if waiting for the morning post. In the early light the warm brown patina glows, and touches of verdigris pick out their feathers and the leaves around them. Run a hand down the trunk and you feel deep bark texture, then the smooth, cool flag as you raise it for the carrier. With the garden waking up around it, the air smells of dew and cut hedges, and the walk to the mailbox becomes a small daily pleasure.

Modelled in clay and cast in bronze by the lost-wax method, the piece is finished in a multi-tonal brown patina with verdigris accents and works as a legal mailbox with a raisable flag. Suited to indoor or outdoor settings, it is happiest at a front entrance, along a garden path or at the head of a driveway.
