Two Cupids Bronze Planter Urn Pair

At the top of the garden steps a pair of classical urns stands guard, each embraced by winged cupids, their bowls spilling with trailing ivy and white geraniums. In the slanting light of late afternoon the figures seem to move, wings lifted, as bees drift through the flowers above them. Touch the bronze and you find delicate feathering and soft curls, cool even on a warm day. The scent of damp soil and blossom rises from the planting each time you pass.

Each urn was cast in bronze by the lost-wax method, with a rich patina that deepens over time and a form that allows for drainage so it can be planted. Matched and substantial, the pair looks best flanking an entrance, a staircase landing or the head of a formal garden walk.
