Rome Planter - Low

A shallow bowl does something a tall pot cannot: it lets you look down into the planting, as if into a small garden of its own. This low version keeps the rough, whitewashed cement and pitted, weathered-stone surface of the Rome planter, but spreads it wide and close to the ground. Fill it with succulents and trailing sedum, or a carpet of creeping thyme that releases its scent when brushed, and set it on a low wall or the edge of a step. Beside its taller companion it makes an easy, unhurried pair.
