Mother Kangaroo with Baby Bronze Statue

A mother kangaroo stands tall among silver-leaved grasses, a small joey peering out of her pouch. In the warm afternoon air you can almost smell eucalyptus and dry earth, and hear the rustle of grasses moving in the breeze. Her fur is textured and her expression gentle, the joey's head small and round under a fingertip. The pair brings warmth and a quiet sense of hope to a garden.

Sculpted in clay and cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method, the piece was created as a tribute to the wildlife lost in the 2019 Australian wildfires. It looks lovely in a dry or gravel garden, beside a path or as a memorial piece in a quiet corner.
