Manchester Chippendale Bench

Chippendale fretwork has a way of turning sunlight into pattern, its geometry throwing crisp, criss-crossed shadows over gravel or brick as the afternoon wears on. The Manchester bench takes that eighteenth-century spirit and gives it a full six feet of seat, enough for a long conversation at the far end of the garden. It looks at home against clipped boxwood and white hydrangeas, or on a pool terrace where its lines echo a trellis wall smothered in confederate jasmine, sweet and heady on a warm evening.
