Greek Key Apollo Console Base
Greek Key Apollo Console Base
(free shipping)
The Greek key is among the oldest ornaments we have, a single line folding back on itself in an endless, orderly meander. On this console base it gives a classical backbone to a piece three and a half feet wide, made for indoor rooms: a hallway that opens onto the terrace, a sunroom lined with orchids, a dining room overlooking the garden. A slab of honed marble suits its temple-like composure; so does a pair of urns planted with clipped myrtle. In black or dark grey it reads crisp and architectural against pale plaster walls.
