Falkland Road Garden Stool - Burnt Orange

There is nothing timid about this colour. Burnt orange, glossy and bright, it has the heat of a ripe persimmon or a Mexican flame vine in full bloom. The stool rises as a column with a scalloped, four-lobed profile, like a clover leaf or the quatrefoil of a Gothic window, so the light breaks into soft vertical bands as it moves around it. It wants bold neighbours: cobalt pots, purple fountain grass, the paddle leaves of a bird-of-paradise. Against a white-walled courtyard or a pale pool deck, it becomes the point everything else turns toward.
