Fairborn Accent Chair

Black frames against green leaves have a crispness that never quite goes out of fashion; think of a Victorian glasshouse, its glazing bars dark against a tangle of ferns. This lounge chair borrows that graphic quality. Its arms are open grids of hand-painted black aluminium, set out like small window panes, and through them you glimpse the planting behind. Deep pale cushions soften all that geometry. Pair two on a screened porch with a Boston fern on a stand between them, or set one beside a bed of white agapanthus, where the contrast is at its sharpest.
