Ewan Wall Sconce

The gooseneck lamp belongs to a working landscape: dairy barns, feed stores, the side of a clapboard packing house in citrus country. This one keeps the form honest. A smooth black dome shade, finished with a neat stepped cap, hangs from a curved arm of painted black iron. Against white board-and-batten or old red brick it draws a strong, clean line, and at night it lays a tidy pool of light across the path below. Hang it above a back door flanked by tubs of Meyer lemons, whose blossom is heady in early spring, or along a garden wall where fruit trees are trained as espaliers.
