Erika Garden Stool

Deep jade green, finely crackled like the glaze on an antique celadon vase, covers this barrel stool from rim to rim. Elongated petals and teardrops are pierced through its sides, and through them you catch glimpses of whatever grows behind. In shade the colour deepens to emerald; in sun it brightens to the green of a new banana leaf unfurling. It belongs in a lush garden, among bromeliads beneath a canopy of palms, or on a loggia beside lady palms in tall pots, where it can hold a drink or a pair of pruners between tasks.
