Dita Pouf

Deep teal is the colour of a shaded pool at noon, or the cool glaze on an old Chinese garden stool. This pouf gathers it into a round, squashy ball of chunky knit, the stitches big enough to trace with a fingertip. It sits lower and wider than a footstool, fourteen inches high and twenty across, which makes it as handy for propping up tired feet as for perching on. Roll it out onto the pool terrace between a pair of loungers, or keep it on the loggia near a potted fiddle-leaf fig and a stack of well-thumbed gardening books.
