The diamond is the most ordered of patterns, and set into the tall back of this club chair it gives a clean, architectural line to any terrace. The trellis-like back, in the Chippendale tradition, frames the view behind it rather than blocking it, so a bed of agapanthus or a sweep of lawn reads through the openings. The seat is broad and deep enough for a generous cushion. Pair it with the starback chairs for a little play of pattern, or set a pair either side of a front door flanked by tall topiary.
