Chinese Chippendale Counter Stool

There is something companionable about a row of stools at a counter: the place where coffee is drunk standing up, seed catalogues are pored over and the day’s tomatoes are sorted by ripeness. The Chinese Chippendale Counter Stool brings order and a little ornament to that scene, its latticework back set above a twenty-four-inch seat suited to standard counter height. Being armless, it tucks in tidily beneath the overhang. Use it at a kitchen island that looks out over the garden, at a breakfast bar in a sunroom, or along the counter of a pool house. Mocha and beige have a quiet, earthy calm; French blue is pure seaside.
