Chinese Chippendale Armchair
Chinese Chippendale Armchair
(free shipping)
Chinoiserie has always been at home in gardens, perhaps because its geometry plays so well against the looseness of leaves. The Chinese Chippendale Armchair sets crisp latticework against whatever grows behind it, so a pair placed before a stand of clumping bamboo or a wall of creeping fig takes on the look of a lacquered screen. At twenty inches wide it is a neat, upright dining chair, comfortable around a terrace table with lanterns glowing overhead. Choose Chinese red for drama, French blue to echo blue-and-white porcelain planters, or white for a crisp tropical scheme of palms and hibiscus.
