Cape Town Fire Table

Florida evenings in January can turn surprisingly cool, and that is when a fire table earns its place. This one gathers people round a circular top with a central burner, set over a drum base of fine vertical reeding, all in aluminium hand-painted a warm wheat colour that glows amber in the firelight. Glass beads fill the burner and glitter as the flames move across them. Pull up the Cape Town swivel chairs, add a basket of blankets and a pot of fragrant rosemary by the steps, and let the night go long.
