Cape Town Coffee Table

A round table changes the way people gather: nobody sits at the head, and everyone can reach the olives. This coffee table, a generous 42 inches across, has a top of pale beige stone with a soft matte finish, cool under the palm, set into an aluminium frame hand-painted in a warm wheat tone. Curving legs sweep down to meet in a crossed stretcher. Ring it with Cape Town lounge chairs on the terrace and set a low bowl of floating hibiscus flowers in the centre, their colour vivid against the stone.
