Benches are made for the in-between moments: pulling off boots by the back door, waiting for the kettle, watching hummingbirds work a stand of firebush. This long, low one has an aluminium frame hand-painted in wheat, its legs joined by gently curving stretchers, and a slim white cushion along the top. Slide it along one side of a dining table for relaxed, family-style seating, or set it against a sunny brick wall where the stored warmth of the afternoon soaks into your back.
