Bronze 'Princess Bella' Hippopotamus Fountain Sculpture

At the edge of the pool on a hot afternoon, Princess Bella wallows contentedly, a bronze hippopotamus with a merry, expressive face and water flowing from her in a playful, never-ending stream. The splash is bright and cheerful, a sound that makes children laugh and grown-ups linger in the shade. Pat her broad back and you feel the wrinkled, textured skin, warm from the sun where the water has not reached. The air is full of the scent of chlorine and cut lawn and suntan lotion, and she seems to be enjoying the summer as much as anyone.

She is cast in solid bronze by the lost-wax method, with naturalistic proportions and a hand-applied, weather-resistant patina suited to year-round placement. She can live indoors or out and is happiest on a pool deck, in a water garden or at the center of a family courtyard.
