Brinnon Garden Stool

Light passes straight through this stool. Large scrolls and teardrops are cut from its white barrel body, so the afternoon sun throws curling shapes across the flagstones that lengthen as the day wears on. The glaze is high and glossy, as cool and clean as a rinsed porcelain plate. It has the airy grace of a Moorish courtyard, and looks especially fine against a wall of star jasmine, or among white impatiens and caladiums in a shady corner. Use it as a side table on the loggia, or bring it into a garden room where the openwork can be admired up close.
