Bizen Garden Stool - Gray

On an overcast morning, when the garden is all soft greys and wet greens, this stool belongs completely. Rounded tiers glazed the grey of a rain cloud are stacked above a sandy, textured base ring, giving it the look of weathered stones balanced at the edge of a stream. The contrast is subtle and tactile: smooth glaze above, a little grit below. It suits a contemporary garden of clipped boxwood balls and silver lamb's ears, or a shaded courtyard corner where a fountain trickles. Use it as a side table beside a lounger, or raise a potted maidenhair fern to eye level.
