Baker's Etagere

Think of a conservatory in late winter: trays of seedlings on every level, a trailing pothos finding its way down, terracotta stacked beside the watering can, and the smell of damp compost in the warm air. This baker's étagère was made for exactly that kind of abundance. Five feet wide and a little over seven feet tall, it gives a kitchen, sunroom or potting shed a generous wall of open iron shelving, with the airy French Provincial character of the old bakeries it takes its name from. Fill it with copper pans and citrus in pots, or a collection of orchids waiting for their moment.
